Loose Cannons: Stardust

A two part show where the improvisers will be loose cannons. What will they create? You decide! You are lighting the fuse.

SHOW SUMMARY

You never know what will happen at Loose Cannons. Each show is different, exciting, dangerous, and fun. This will be a two-part improv.

The first half of the night:

David Bowie once penned, “There’s a Starman waiting in the sky/He’d like to come and meet us/But he thinks he’d blow our minds,” and he did, in fact, blow our minds. Maybe yours, too.
Come witness veteran improvisers/musicians/Bowie fans improvise an entirely new musical inspired by, in homage to, and in the style of David Bowie. Guide them with your suggestions, and they might just blow your minds. You can be heroes.
“Stardust! An Improvised Space Opera (in the style of David Bowie)” is coming to you for one night only at Unexpected Productions as part of its Loose Cannons Improv 2023 series.

The second half of the night’s format starts with a suggestion from the audience – this could undoubtedly be anything. Improvisers will start associating around the suggestion, and then an opening game is played. In this format, a lot of associated elements around the audience suggestions are presented. The opening game might be a song, a monologue, or simply a group association based on the audience’s suggestion. The idea is to use the elements and themes that come up or about in the opening game in what follows.

The improvisers will be loose cannons. What will they create? You decide! You are lighting the fuse.

Creating art isn’t about getting it perfect or even getting close. It’s about relishing the creation process and developing something that draws emotion. That’s what I aim for every time I step forward.
